The Ian Pratt Laboratory at SITRAN has officially opened, accelerating groundbreaking research in neurological disease treatment.

On October 4, 2023, BBC Look North spotlighted the grand opening of the Ian Pratt Laboratory at SITRAN (Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience), marking a pivotal moment in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

The segment captured an emotional yet celebratory occasion, featuring heartfelt reflections from Ian Pratt’s wife, Catherine, and their daughter, Georgiana. They spoke of Ian’s enduring legacy and their immense pride in the establishment of the laboratory, which stands as a tribute to his vision and determination.

A significant milestone was reached with generous donations totaling £160,000, which played a crucial role in bringing this laboratory to life. Trustees of the Ian Pratt MND Foundation (IPMNDF) joined the ceremony to commemorate this remarkable achievement.
